Oh my! On the first day of March, tomorrow, we will be 4 short degrees away from 90 in Southern New Mexico! I’m thinking about the implications for the coming summer.
While I generally believe myself to be tolerant, I may have to modify that stance because our planet is at risk for all the denial which has been in front of each of us who’ve been on the planet for decades. There are no more distinct seasons. There is weather and along with it, we have horrendous floods, devastating fires, relentless damaging winds, coastal erosion, sink holes, jet streams carrying the remnants of bombings and wars.
We cannot claim innocence. We cannot stick our heads in the eroding sands. We must accept blame for our ignorance and arrogance in our treatment of our great Mother-Earth! We are now living in the times foreseen by science fiction writers.
When, oh when, will we wake the f#_# up, quit making this a political issue, and start doing something responsible to gift our precious planet to the 7 generations that come after us. This is an amazing planet with sufficient beauty and abundance for every person to enjoy. No more coveting for the few. No more starvation. No more lack of housing. Opportunity for EVERY occupant to share in the wealth.
When I see the behavior of the many millionaires and even billionaires are given cabinet positions. I am in deep mourning. Why, why are we electing people who have no experience of living paycheck to paycheck. People are being forced out of housing. The middle class has all but disappeared. Money is the God people pray to. We cannot afford to keep people in office who cannot see what is before them in terms of their constituents. Our country’s motto is now Greed is Good! We now have pedophiles in the highest position of our government. And along with it all, environmental provisions for safety and planetary maintenance are being thrown out and ignored by lobbying oil and coal barons.
We need people in these high places who comprehend the inherent responsibility of power and leadership. And we need them now. If I wasn’t so old and physically infirm, I’d run for office. In fact, my late best friend, Jonell, and I were so disgusted with whomever was running for office in the 80’s that we wrote ourselves in on our ballot. We even chose our cabinet of all women who knew the truth of what was before us.
There are other things we’ve lost along with throwing the baby out with the bath water. Decency, kindness, compassion, respect (like Aretha sang so well), honor, truth, accountability. and other necessary aspects of life that define goodness. We were taught to pay tribute to our elders. Now elders are marginalized and joining “the street people.”
The argument about climate change as to whether it is human caused or natural shifts of the planetary history are not excuses for ignoring the fact that it IS happening. Coastal areas are being flooded. Fires consume acreage yearly. Large air storms like tornadoes and hurricanes are increasing in both occurrence and violence. Lowlands are awash. Earthquakes are on the uptake and predicted to do devastating harm any day and in many areas.
So, we have political crises and environmental destruction and along with that overpopulation is changing how people relate to one another. As populations expand so does violence and need for essential food, shelter, and utilities. Separation between becomes a necessity to avoid gun violence and for self-reservation.
Where do we start to amend all these troubling individual and collective struggles. How do we start encouraging respect for our previous planet? We need not only a country plan. We need a global one. We must find a universal creed that every single country can abide by. No more foolish and destructive wars. Elect people with vision, integrity, foresight, and experience beyond the money game. Look to vibrant youth for revolutionary ideas and the energy to implement them. Choose Earth Awareness. Get out of your muddled heads and look with your heart (like the first occupants did).
I personally believe that learning about Earth-Based Spirituality and recognizing that all of creation deserves respect and the opportunity to thrive is paramount. We need all the prayer, meditation and affirmation directed for highest and best good for all!
What I do believe is that we are challenged to learn from all the current destruction and devolution. All of history has had social disintegration at times and eventually turned it around. We, the people, need to do everything we are capable of to be part of the process. Be encouraged that possibility for a New Earth does exist. That is why we chose to incarnate at this time. We are the ones the Earth has been waiting for as the Hopi prophecies told us.
Turn off all the electronics each day for a period of quiet so you can tune into the rhythms of our Mother Earth and align with those energies. Be outside in nature. Join organizations, or invent your own, that are focused on restoration, preservation, and alignment with a new vibration.
A new dawn is coming!! Be ready.
