Founder Biography
Magdala Spiritual Healing was founded to honor the memory of Miriam of Magdala, lineage bearer of the message of hope and love inspired by the teachings of one Yeshua Ben Joseph of Nazareth. To live from truth in daily life and community. To embrace the essence of all spiritual teachings, mystics, masters, and avatars. To contribute to the world’s mystical and wisdom traditions by holding a space for Spirit to grow and flourish. To eschew religious separation and distinction while encouraging tolerance, acceptance, and inner peace.
Our ultimate intention in future is to create a haven for individual spiritual inspiration and evolution. Act as ‘turn-key’ example for establishment of similar sanctuaries nationwide. To establish a non-denominational sanctuary devoted to the memory of Miriam of Magdala (Mary Magdalene). To offer retreats, individual vision quests and workshops for spiritual renewal, inspiration, and artistic/creative evolution. A further goal is to create a community of affordable tiny houses for elder women as a spiritual haven and affordable housing in times of economic insufficiency.
Founder Biography Amari Magdalena is an ordained Universal Brotherhood Minister and Minister Director, elder wisdom keeper, master healer and author of several books on aspects of ancient wisdom for modern solutions. Her spirituality has run the gamut from Protestant Christianity, to Catholicism, to Buddhism, to Indigenous Earth-based practices, to metaphysics. During that time, she has been privileged to know and work with the late Elena Avila, Woman Who Glows in the Dark; Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements™; Mother Sarita; Tom Blue Wolf Goodman, Jorge Luis Delgado; Barbara Marx-Hubbard, Birth 2012 and Beyond; and multiple practitioners of cross-cultural shamanism here and abroad. In 1985 she founded The Institute for Shamanic Synthesis. For 30 years she has taught hundreds of people here and abroad at colleges, universities, health fairs, book stores etc.
In 2020 she incorporated her practices and offerings under a 509 (a)2 non-profit, Magdala Spiritual Healing which offers wisdom parsed from the world’s esoteric traditions in bite size pieces to bring you home to you! Amari draws on ageless source and knowledge for creating contentment in a contentious world. This body of work will add to her vast shamanic knowledge and bring new insights from a life lived through almost eight decades. She is inspired by everyday application of rituals, ceremonies, and perspectives for smoothing our passages on a rapidly changing planet. Here teachings are expanded to Zoom meetings and on-line classes as she continues to devote her ministry to peace. Offerings include classes-individual and group; sessions; readings, writings, and healings. In future, retreats. She performs weddings, along with, many significant ceremonies and celebrations throughout life’s passages.

Over her many years of teaching, she has been honored to apprentice 22 people and teach hundreds of other students seeking inspiration through Earth-based traditions. Magdalena is mother of four children and grandmother to their nine offspring.
